          • It was good, great pastrami, but like most places these days, its a little pricey for the portion size. I guess its more about a turn-of-the-century eating experience and LA history, But I won't be running back soon, rather head to the Original Pantry Cafe. Much better food, and portion sizes with that same old school LA vibe. The food there is actually worth the price.

          • Ancient place in the middle of downtown LA, where the menu items have changed little over the years. The star of the menu is the double dip French dip, on a homemade French roll. Be sure and get a side of either potato salad or macaroni salad. And don't forget dessert, their pies are wonderful. As you sit on the saw dust covered dining room, try the hot mustard. If you had a cold before you came in, if you overuse the mustard on the squeeze bottle, you won't have a cold leaving. The coffee is cheap and good, so is the beef stew. They also offer a hearty breakfast.

          • This sandwich was an amazing experience! The meat and the dipped bun is so soft, it just melts in your mouth the pickles are amazing. The cucumber is crunchy and has a sharp, delicious flavour. The chicken soup was a very nice warm-up before the sandwich. Their mustard is very nice. It is spicy and has a nice flavour. One should buy a bottle of it and bring it home. It goes well with other foods as well. The interior is very nice. The wood chips on the floor, the posters, the benches, everything together gives a nice and unique atmosphere to the eating experience. The staff is very nice as well and they work quickly and efficiently.

          • Love this place. Frozen in time. Sawdust on the ground. I try to eat here whenever I am in LA. Worth going out of your way for. If soggy sandwiches are your thing, this is the one to compare all others too. I don't care if they invented the dip or not, they perfected it. Warning, the mustard is very delicious, but go easy, it will clear all your sinus!

          • Great food and awesome service. I love the service ladies at the counter! The restrooms are immaculate, simply beautifully redone! French dipped sandwich heaven, the place like no other. Double dipped lamb is my favorite along with split pea soup. Very nice free parking! The prices have gone up like every where in LA.
