This SUPER little and cozy hotel is perfect for youngsters and backpackers in short trips as in a very great location surrounded by many different kind of restaurants (which can get a little bit noisy) on affordable prices. The reception staff is super friendly and helpful... Just consider not having knee' problems as the hotel starts on the 2do floor of the building and it doesn't have elevator. 😋
This is a great hotel for young couples. It's located in a very accessible area with many places to walk around and see. There are a lot of bars, restaurants and it's close to the metro. The staff was really friendly and nice. The price was just for a New York hotel in a great location. The room and bathroom were small, however you don't spend so much time in the hotel so it's worth the price.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I walked in and was told I need to pay cash and was fooled into signing a sheet that said “no refunds”. What hotel makes you pay cash? I walked into the room and it was TERRIBLE. There’s only window unit air, and the furniture is old. The bed was HARD!! And the linens looked aged and dirty. After brushing my teeth and assessing the room I decided that I did not feel safe or comfortable in this room. I went downstairs and told the front desk man that I’d like a refund because this room was not what I expected and I do not feel safe. He rejected my refund due to me “using the room”. I did NOT sleep or get into the bed. I was unable to get a refund and because I paid in cash, there is nothing I can do. Please do not get tricked into this like I did. I will be calling the NYC business bureau about this establishment.
Simple but clean hotel in a very good location near the metro station. The rooms are small but if you are on sightseeing, you do not have to be bigger. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you are lucky either you will get a room on the first floor because the stairs are steep and narrow The price value makes it 5 *
We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Great location super close to hip and busy Easy Village. We had a king corner room which was really nice. Didn't ask the staff for much but very friendly. Restaurant has a vegan tofu scramble and eggs are good too.
Had a great time for a work event and spent much of it at the penthouse. There was a bespoke signature drink that was similar to a Moscow mule and I enjoyed it very much. The staff was very polite and friendly and the service was great. They also served food buffet style and had appetizers being brought around and all were delicious ranging from spring rolls to ariancini. Would definitely recommend. The view from the balcony was wonderful.
Loved staying at this beautiful boutique hotel! It's in a superb location - right at the heart of the East Village. The service is wonderful, the room is a good size, the amenities are great, and the view is absolutely spectacular - all you need in New York City. They've got a great restaurant (Narcissa) downstairs, and the garden space even the weather is nice. Perfect place to be based when in New York.
If you're looking for a trendy, non-stop spot, then this is the place for you. It's a bit light on amenities and luxury. Our room was comfortable, but not very spacious. The view was the main feature. The beds are comfortable, but have unique linens. They're outfitted with a pillow top that is separate from the mattress itself. The pillow top can get separated and scrunched up under you. The hotel lacks a lobby to lounge or work in, and there is no gym or pool. Given the price, I would have preferred these amenities to the red lighting and mirrors everywhere. Probably won't stay here again.
The city has required Hotel 17 to revert back to SRO Extended Stay Hotel: 30 day increments. But at current 30-day rate, if you divide by 14 days, it's about what it used to cost for a single, $106/night. Do the math for your case. I've been coming here for over ten years and find it adequate. The shared bathrooms are fine. They're cleaned often. And with two to a floor wing for 11 rooms, I've never had a conflict. I haven't found anything price competitive in Manhattan. Rooms are now serviced just once per week. I don't know how this will evolve in time as this Extended Stay has only been in effect for a few months.
My stay at The W was nothing short of AWESOME!!!! I will most definitely be booking this hotel again!!!! Eduarui (front desk) was AWESOME happy, friendly up beat and GREAT customer service!!! My room was BEAUTIFUL and I slept like baby.
I discovered this hotel because I was invited to a Conference being held there. I have never stayed there but the Lobby and the Conference Hall where the event was being held are architecturally unique but do not compliment each other.
I love the stairwell leading to the conference room. As I ascended the stairs, I noticed the ceiling oval sculpture-like lighting fixture resembling an eye..
The architectural design of the lobby is kind of a post modern futuristic art nouveau of sorts.
This is a very nice W and I’m not sure if this is the case for other W’s but there isn’t a coffee maker in the room and the fitness center is extremely small/not overly equipped. However the location is incredible - you can look out and see Union Square and it’s only a short walk to many restaurants, shopping places, etc. The ceilings in the rooms are also very tall.
This is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Union Square. The staff are great, the rooms are a good size and it has all the amenities you need. I have a client in the area and prefer to stay here when I'm visiting. This visit I arrived a bit late and they upgraded me to a great room n the top floor. Very happy and will certainly stay here again.
Hotel experience here was great. Very clean lobby and room, friendly staff, and conveniently located. Decor was outstanding too. Will definitely stay here again in the future. Bottled water for purchase was perhaps in too many spots in the room, very tempting. But overall awesome place.
